FREE YouTube Video Year 1 Termly Maths Assessments
I am now converting all my PowerPoint presentations into YouTube videos PowerPoint Combos. This means teachers can teach the lesson using either the PowerPoint or Youtube version of the lesson and then share the YouTube lesson with their students’ parents. This lesson can then be repeated at home as additional homework.
While the Wigan LEA website disappeared, taking all its maths resources with it, I kept a copy and then made a complete set of PowerPoint Maths assessments I want to share with everyone. These would be great for revising for the KS1 SATs tests.
There are two different formats, you can either show them a question, then let them work out the answer and check their answers, or you can show them each question in turn and set them sme time to find the answer and then ask them the next question until you finish the test. I have also included the original test papers for teachers who want to print out all the test papers and answers all in one go.
I hope you find them as useful as I do with my own class.
These tests are set to change every 5 seconds, letting you test either individual children or a whole class at once. You might like to also look at my matching mini origami books which go with this series (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/mini-book-x2-to-x12-multiplication-times-table-tests-4-per-table-11198350) which are designed to make learning time tables more fun.
There are 4 tests per times table, so the children do not know what test you will give them. They are written in PowerPoint so you can easily edit them or change the speed of the tests.
As my Anti-bullying posters (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/10-free-anti-bullying-week-posters-for-every-classroom-download-and-share-today-11168376) proved so popular, I thought I would continue the series and create a set of motivational maths posters. You could add them to the classroom or all around the school. The would make an excellent resource for International Mathematics day, Pi day or any other numeracy day.
If you like these resources, please click the heart on this page to get informed of when I upload my next set of FREE poster resources.
Please also take the time to say something nice about these resources as you can imagine, they take a long time to make and nice comments motivate me to make more of them!
I am in the process of converting all my free TES PowerPoints into YouTube videos so teachers can teach my lesson and then share the YouTube video with their pupil’s parents to repeat at home. This new approach also makes for a much more fun dynamic lesson!

I always loved using Wigan maths with my class. I have built an entire set of teaching resources around these defunct tests as I think teachers still want to be able to access and use them as a way of preparing for different assessment tests. I have arranged it so you can either let your class do it all at once or the more efficient revision method where you do a question, check the answer as a class and then discuss the different ways of solving the problem.
A fun way to teaching counting during Halloween.
I have combined three of my Halloween Resources to make them even better this year, a Halloween counting song, Number and Letter Handwriting worksheets linked to Halloween and 31 suggested ways of using these ideas in the classroom.
You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different skeletons being shown in each of the photos.
You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about the Halloween Skeleton Counting Song.
The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different groups of skeletons. The students can then discuss what they think each skeleton was saying or thinking.
The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.
This summer I upgraded all my teaching resources and I am now offering my presentations as both PowerPoint presentations and also as a fun YouTube video.
